Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Chavalier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wang Chi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Chavalier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lucas Chavalier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wang Chi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavalier misses with a double jab.
Chi lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chi slips a jab and a cross from Chavalier.
Chi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Chavalier misses with a short punch on the inside. Chi tries for a takedown. No joy.
Chavalier tries to pull guard but Chi won't allow it.
Chi lands an elbow inside. Chavalier jumps guard and drags Chi to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Chi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chavalier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chi wants to stand but Chavalier is controlling his posture from full guard. Chi is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavalier has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chavalier. Chi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Chavalier looks to land a right hand but Chi moved out of range. Chi tries to close the distance and clinch but Chavalier swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chavalier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Chi. A jab lands there for Chavalier. Chi avoids a punch combination nicely.

Chi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chavalier counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Chi is rocked! Chavalier clinches up with Chi and pushes him back against the cage. Chi is still on wobbly legs! Can Chavalier finish him? Chi misses with a knee strike.
Chi seems to have recovered his senses. Chavalier looking to stall.
Chi is trying to trip Chavalier. He has hold of a leg but Chavalier is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chi persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chi stands and steps away. Chavalier gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Chi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Chavalier counters with a one-two to the body. Chi looks gassed! Chavalier stuffs the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavalier tries to clinch up but Chi circles away and keeps his distance. Chavalier falls off balance throwing a combination
and Chi moves into the clinch. Chavalier tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Chavalier lands on the inside with an uppercut. Chavalier fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Chavalier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chavalier is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Chavalier pulls guard effortlessly. Chi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chi wants to get up but he can't break Chavalier's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Chavalier working for a triangle but Chi defends it easily.
Chavalier keeping busy on the bottom but Chi has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chi is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chavalier desperately trying to maintain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Chavalier will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Chi dodges the punch combination from Chavalier.
Chi misses with a takedown attempt and Chavalier counters with a nice uppercut. Chavalier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Chavalier shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chavalier was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Chavalier is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Chi is surviving well by controlling Chavalier's body position as best he can. Chi is breathing heavily. Chavalier controlling the position easily from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chi tries to buck Chavalier off but Chavalier takes his back! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Chavalier working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Chi is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Chavalier has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Chi taps out!
