Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Morton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Niko Tresh! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tresh pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Morton back to the cage. Tresh follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Tresh avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morton throws a right and a left that Tresh avoids nicely. Morton throws a poor cross that misses
and Tresh counters with a lovely shot to the body. Morton tries to clinch but Tresh moves away and Tresh connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Tresh ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Nice body punch from Tresh. Tresh misses with a few strikes there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tresh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Morton doesn't seem bothered though. Tresh lands a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Tresh paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Morton is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tresh. Morton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Morton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tresh has gone for a leg lock! Morton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tresh's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tresh is trying to control the position but Morton postures up. Morton wants to stand and escape but instead Tresh has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Tresh passes into half guard. Tresh is trying to work for a kimura but Morton is defending well.

Tresh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Morton is just riding it out for now. Tresh eventually gives up the hold. Tresh decides to return to a standing position. Niko Tresh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tresh lands a jab-cross combination. Tresh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Morton. Morton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Morton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tresh blocks an elbow strike. Morton is pressed up against the cage. Tresh has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Morton down to the mat. Morton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Morton jabbing away but nothing is landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niko Tresh dominated that round. The cut man is working on Niko Tresh's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tresh lands a head shot. Morton thows a left - swing and a miss! Morton tries to clinch up but Tresh circles away and keeps his distance. Morton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tresh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Morton moves away. Tresh tries to bum rush Morton with a series of wild strikes but Morton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tresh throws a combination. Morton tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Niko Tresh seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tresh takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! No joy there for Morton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tresh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Morton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Morton wants to get back to his feet but Tresh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tresh. Tresh content to stall in guard here. Tresh landing some decent shots from guard. Tresh is looking to work some ground and pound but Morton has wrist control. Morton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tresh working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Morton controls Tresh momentarily but Tresh frees himself. Tresh trying to control the position from guard on top but Morton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tresh throwing strikes from guard but Morton blocks nicely. Tresh tries to free his leg and advance position but Morton is retaining full guard. Tresh working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morton is trying to keep Tresh in close.
Tresh throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tresh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tresh tries to free his leg and advance position but Morton is retaining full guard. Tresh advances position into side control! Tresh misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Tresh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tresh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Morton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tresh trying to control the action but Morton is working from the bottom. Morton wants to control but Tresh postures up. Morton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tresh on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tresh lands some shots froms side control. Niko Tresh has got the better of the ground game so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tresh gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Morton tries to clinch but Tresh moves out of range. Tresh throws a right hand that Morton ducks under and follows up with a left that Morton also avoids with ease. Tresh is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Tresh with that takedown attempt. Tresh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morton manages to avoid it. Morton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tresh. Morton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tresh throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Morton on the side of the head. Tresh scores with a shot to the body.

Tresh shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carl Morton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niko Tresh.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Morton is not content to let Tresh control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tresh sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Morton defending well though. Tresh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

And that's the end of the fight! Niko Tresh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Tresh winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
