Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Future (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Popo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Future comes to the cage accompanied by Menor do Chapa - Humildade e Disciplina. Popo has chosen Alter Bridge- Ties that Bind as his entrance music. Ace Popo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Future! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ace Popo! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Future wants to clinch and Popo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Future's guard. Popo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Popo stands and throws Future's legs to the side, diving into side control. Popo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Future has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Popo but great work by Future. Popo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Future wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Future knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Popo on the ground. Popo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Popo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Future's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Future's back! Popo has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Popo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Future has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Future has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Popo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Future wants to escape the position.
Future is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Popo gets his way!
Popo is punishing Future with some ground and pound. Popo is hanging on to Future's back as he tries to escape.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Future finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Future tries to lock up and control but Popo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Future is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Future is squirming around, avoiding Popo's attempts to control the action. Popo working away from the top, dropping strikes. Future is in a horrible position here. Popo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Future is rocked!
It looks like John Future has been cut. Oooooh, big shot lands for Popo! Future is hurt baaadly! Popo is firing away with more strikes - Future is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ace Popo!
