The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desjardins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ellis manages to avoid it.
Quinton Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Desjardins throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ellis shoots and misses

and Desjardins counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ellis wants to get back to full guard.
Ellis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ellis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Desjardins scores with a couple of nice shots.

Desjardins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
