Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Fazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuri Boyka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Fazar!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyka has taken the fight to the clinch.

Boyka jumps into guard, dragging Fazar to the mat.
Boyka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fazar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Fazar won't allow Boyka to get back to his feet.
Boyka keeping full guard, as Fazar tries to pass.
Fazar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fazar stands and steps away. Boyka gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fazar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boyka as he avoids it easily.
Fazar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Boyka gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fazar controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fazar stops Boyka from standing up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fazar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Chris Fazar has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Fazar moves into the clinch successfully.

Fazar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fazar looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Fazar avoids the head kick by Boyka.
Boyka moves out of range as Fazar throws a body kick.
Fazar throws a lazy right hand but Boyka sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fazar keeps the fight on the outside.
Boyka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Boyka is breathing heavily.

Boyka rushes Fazar and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Come on Fazar - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Boyka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Fazar is trying to force a seperation but Boyka has the dominant position.

Fazar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fazar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Boyka did well to prevent Fazar getting side control.

Fazar is trying to control. Boyka wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fazar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Fazar hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Boyka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fazar.

Fazar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boyka to the ground. Fazar is now in Boyka's guard.
Fazar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Boyka tries to sprawl but Fazar drives through with a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fazar tries to advance to mount but Boyka denies him.
Fazar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyka keeps working.
Boyka is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Fazar throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Boyka because Fazar loaded up on that one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fazar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boyka but Boyka pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Fazar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Fazar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boyka but Boyka pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fazar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boyka sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fazar somewhat.
Yuri Boyka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyka throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boyka wants to clinch up but Fazar keeps it at a distance.

Fazar moves into the clinch.
Fazar looking to throw knees to the head but Boyka is blocking nicely.

Boyka manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Fazar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Boyka, up you get!

Fazar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boyka sprawls well. Boyka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fazar gets slowly back to his feet.
Yuri Boyka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Fazar.
Boyka wants to clinch but Fazar slips to the side

and Fazar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fazar wants to pass the guard but Boyka is defending well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fazar seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Chris Fazar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fazar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
