The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deslandes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Deslandes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pack counters with a shoot takedown. Deslandes fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Deslandes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Deslandes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Pack is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Deslandes sees it coming and defends easily.
Deslandes wants to improve his position but Pack is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pack looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Deslandes tries to get to full guard but Pack has control of the leg.
Pack has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Deslandes defend it? Pack steps over the head and cranks it - Deslandes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Pack!

Kyle Pack decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
