Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Ewing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vellu Kuikka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Ewing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vellu Kuikka!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ewing shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kuikka as he avoids it easily.
Some wild striking there from Kuikka.
No luck for Ewing with that takedown attempt.
Kuikka drops Ewing with a right and a left! Kuikka comes rushing in but Ewing regains his composure and manages to keep Kuikka in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ewing is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ewing is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ewing manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kuikka manages to get himself to full guard.
Kuikka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ewing trying to control the position from guard on top but Kuikka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ewing wants to pass the guard but Kuikka is keeping the position.

Ewing trying to control but Kuikka is working from the bottom.
Kuikka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ewing. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ewing is breathing heavily.
Ewing won't allow Kuikka to sweep him here.
Kuikka keeping moving, preventing Ewing from controlling successfully.
Ewing slips nicely into half guard.

Kuikka has his foot on Ewing's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ewing works his way back into a safe position though.
Kuikka looking for a guillotine here but Ewing defends easily.
Ewing not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ewing's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ken Ewing just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Ewing shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kuikka pinned against the cage. Kuikka gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Ewing. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kuikka fails to land with a series of punches.
Kuikka lands with a big right hook that stumbles Ewing - he's out on his feet here! Kuikka follows up with another monster hook that separates Ewing from consciousness! Ewing falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Kuikka stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
