Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Serj Tankian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Champion as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Serj Tankian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tankian shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A head kick by Tankian misses and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones is standing up over Tankian. Tankian looks to escape but Jones dives into side control.
Jones prevents Tankian from escaping the position. Tankian throws Jones to one side and escapes! Tankian shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely. Tankian shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Serj Tankian. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Tankian looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Tankian shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tankian's guard now. Tankian is breathing heavily. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Tankian's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tankian pushes Jones off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Tankian feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Tankian changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tankian in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tankian throws a big right hand that misses. Jones wants to get back to his feet but Tankian is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Tankian missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tankian postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.

Tankian moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tankian clinches up against the cage. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Serj Tankian dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tankian wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Tankian tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tankian takes the fight into the clinch. Tankian throws a knee to the head but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Tankian to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tankian working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Tankian postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Tankian is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control. Tankian working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones is looking to stand up but Tankian isn't so interested in that idea. Tankian makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tankian postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Serj Tankian will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Tankian shoots and misses and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tankian! Jones is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Tankian forces Jones back against the cage and clinches. A nice glancing elbow lands by Jones.

Serj Tankian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tankian moves to clinch but Jones breaks away and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tankian! Tankian wants to try and get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tankian tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tankian somewhat.
