Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Benn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rizzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Rizzi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn lands a nice hook to Rizzi's body. Rizzi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Benn lands a jab to the nose.
Rizzi shoots in and drives through. Benn sprawls well.

Rizzi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Rizzi tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Rizzi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rizzi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Rizzi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Rizzi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Benn can't do much from the bottom here.
Rizzi scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Benn to see if he's OK.

Benn is not content to let Rizzi control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rizzi throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Benn works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Rizzi thows a huge punch but Benn dodges it nicely.
Benn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Benn is refusing to be controlled, as Rizzi sits in half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rizzi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Benn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Benn parries the strikes from Rizzi easily there. Rizzi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Benn to escape.

Rizzi has knee on belly momentarily but Benn bucks him off and regains half guard.

Rizzi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Benn is trying desperately to improve position.
Rizzi unloads with some shots from mount but Benn bucks and avoids them well.

Rizzi throws a wild left hand from mount and Benn manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Rizzi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rizzi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Benn is just riding it out for now. Rizzi eventually gives up the hold.
Benn tries to roll over but Rizzi keeps him under control.

Rizzi slows the pace down in half guard.
Benn is trying to maintain the position but Rizzi is very close to passing his half guard.
Benn tries to get to full guard but Rizzi has control of the leg.

Benn looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Benn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rizzi is working away from the top position though.
Benn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rizzi.
Rizzi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Rizzi stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Rizzi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Rizzi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Benn tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Rizzi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Benn manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rizzi's best efforts.

Rizzi stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Benn to get to his feet.

Rizzi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Benn napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Benn managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rizzi.
Rizzi wants to take a breather but Benn manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rizzi.

Rizzi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Benn's guard.
Benn is looking for a sweep. Rizzi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pedro Rizzi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rizzi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Still in half guard, Rizzi seems content to control.

Rizzi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Rizzi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Rizzi decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Pedro Rizzi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Rizzi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rizzi throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Rizzi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Benn's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I've got Rizzi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
