Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hayden Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by This City - Patrick Stump. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayden Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hansen throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Hansen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson shoots in but Hansen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hansen's waist but Hansen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.
No joy there for Hansen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hansen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hansen throws a wild body kick that Jackson sees coming a mile off.

Jackson shoots in but no luck this time.
Hayden Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Jackson.
Hansen ducks under a wild hook from Jackson.
Jackson shoots for a takedown but Hansen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Hansen sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hansen throws a chopping leg kick but Jackson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackson.

Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hansen wants to control but Jackson postures up.
Hansen tries to buck Jackson off but Jackson is having none of it.

Jackson happy to just control the position for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Hansen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jackson shoots in and drives through. Hansen sprawls well.
Hayden Hansen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hansen misses with a few strikes there.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hansen lands a head kick!
Hansen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jackson if he has to take too many more of those.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hayden Hansen dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson shoots and misses
and Hansen counters with a big head kick but Jackson shrugs it off.
Quinton Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hansen throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Quinton Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.

Jackson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hansen was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Hansen is keeping the position.
Jackson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Quinton Jackson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Jackson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Hansen thows a body kick. Jackson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Jackson misses with a two punch combination.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jackson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Quinton Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Hansen throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson fails to land the takedown.
Hansen throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hansen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Nice takedown defense from Hansen. No joy for Jackson on that attempt.
Hayden Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Jackson.
Hansen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.
Hansen misses with a head kick.
Hansen tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Hansen.

Hayden Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hansen tries a head kick but it misses.
Hansen throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Jackson tries for a takedown but Hansen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hansen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Hansen throws the kick towards the body but Jackson avoids it.
A right-left combo lands from Hansen.
Jackson dodges the punch combination from Hansen.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Hansen, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Hansen against the cage but Hansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Good leg kick by Hansen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hayden Hansen is winning the standup battle so far.

Jackson lunges at Hansen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hansen's hand.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Hansen, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Hansen against the cage but Hansen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into Hansen's guard.
Hansen tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hayden Hansen.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
