Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johhny Gat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahoy Matey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johhny Gat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johhny Gat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ahoy Matey!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matey manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gat on his heels. He'll look to pass Gat's guard now, I'm sure.
Matey looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Matey is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Matey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Matey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
It looks like Matey might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Matey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gat manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Matey lands with a kick to the temple. Gat shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Gat throws a right and a left that both miss.
Matey takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Matey scores with a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Matey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gat on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Matey shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Matey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Still in half guard, Matey seems content to control.
Matey's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Matey circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Gat drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Matey follows Gat to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
