Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Vulture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rude comes to the cage accompanied by Gunslinger. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dominic Rude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Vulture!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vulture shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rude sprawls well. Rude wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vulture gets slowly back to his feet.
Vulture fails with the takedown.
Rude lands a lovely overhand right.
Vulture fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dominic Rude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Vulture.

Vulture shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rude as he jumps to the side.
No luck for Vulture with that takedown attempt.
Rude scores with a nice head shot.
Rude is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Vulture shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Vulture looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rude is fending him off so far but Vulture persists. Nope, Rude circles away and we're back to standing.

Vulture throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rude's waist but Rude gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vulture off to one side.

Vulture looks gassed!

Vulture closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

A bit of a lull in the action here.

Vulture wants to free his trapped foot but Rude is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vulture is looking for a kimura but Rude is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vulture to get the leverage.
Rude moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rude avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Rude preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vulture trying to control the position from guard on top but Rude is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rude manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vulture can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rude tries to control but Vulture wriggling away.
Vulture is trying to escape the mount.
Rude sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Rude looking to control but Vulture is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Poor strikes thrown by Rude there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Vulture regains half guard.
Rude thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vulture's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dominic Rude.
Rude lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rude sizes up Vulture with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Rude defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vulture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Rude's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A slow jab from Rude misses its intended target.
Rude uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vulture has time to react.
Vulture fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Rude connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vulture momentarily.
Vulture takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Vulture is breathing heavily.
Vulture shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Rude scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rude missing with a left hand there. Vulture was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jab, jab by Rude - just one landing.
Rude fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vulture.
Vulture will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rude throws a lazy right hand but Vulture sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A jab from Rude finds it's way through Vulture's defenses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vulture closes the distance and clinches up with Rude, looking for a takedown. Vulture pushes Rude against the cage but Rude circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vulture takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Rude scores with a decent looking hook.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rude.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vulture is rocked!
Horrible takedown by Vulture or perhaps it was just good defense by Rude which made him look bad.
Vulture is still on wobbly legs! Can Rude finish him?
Rude cracks Vulture with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Vulture tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Rude pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Vulture is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dominic Rude!
During a confident post fight interview, Dominic Rude thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
