Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maverick Warner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colin Marshall! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Marshall rushes Warner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Warner breaks from the clinch.
Marshall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Warner is fending him off so far but Marshall persists. Nope, Warner circles away and we're back to standing. Marshall tries to clinch but Warner is having none of it. Marshall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Warner as he avoids it easily. Maverick Warner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colin Marshall. Warner will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marshall feints and as Warner raises his hands in defense, Marshall changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Warner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Warner has a closed guard, preventing Marshall from standing up. Marshall trying to control but Warner is working from the bottom. Marshall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Warner keeping moving, preventing Marshall from controlling successfully.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Colin Marshall hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Warner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Warner.
Marshall misses with an uppercut. No luck for Marshall with that takedown attempt. Warner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marshall's waist but Marshall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Warner off to one side. Marshall closes the distance and pushes Warner back into the cage. Warner breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Warner. Warner slaps away a takedown attempt from Marshall, before circling back to the center of the mat. Warner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marshall defends it nicely. Warner throws a combination that misses and Marshall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Warner's guard now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marshall seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Marshall trying to control but Warner is working from the bottom. Warner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall wants to control from the top but Warner keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Colin Marshall. Marshall scores with a takedown into Warner's guard. Warner keeping full guard, as Marshall tries to pass. Warner keeping moving, preventing Marshall from controlling successfully. Warner working a defensive guard here.
Marshall throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Warner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marshall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Marshall won't allow Warner to sweep him here. Marshall controlling from the top position. Warner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Marshall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Warner leaves Marshall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Marshall is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Colin Marshall dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Marshall has a takedown stuffed. Warner scores with a head kick. Marshall tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Marshall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Warner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Warner tests Marshall's chin there with a solid looking shot. Marshall shoots in for a takedown but Warner shows good takedown defense. Marshall closes the distance and clinches. Marshall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Marshall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Warner paws at him with a jab and circles away. Marshall clinches up against the cage. Warner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall fails in his attempt to clinch. Marshall misses with a body kick. Maverick Warner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Warner throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Marshall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Warner as he jumps to the side. Maverick Warner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Colin Marshall. Marshall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Warner but Warner pushes him off and we're back to square one. Warner throws a series of punches but Marshall moves out of range. Marshall throws the kick towards the body but Warner avoids it. Warner connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Colin Marshall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marshall. Marshall tries to clinch but fails miserably and Warner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Warner. Warner keeps control of Marshall as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Warner slaps away a takedown attempt from Marshall, before circling back to the center of the mat. Marshall is breathing heavily. A head kick misses from Warner. Warner displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marshall shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Warner is trying to defend but Marshall finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Marshall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Marshall trying to control from Warner's half guard. Warner has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Marshall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Warner trying to keep a closed guard but Marshall is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Marshall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Marshall trying to control but Warner is working from the bottom. Warner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Marshall slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Marshall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Marshall misses with a takedown attempt - Warner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Marshall shoots in looking for a takedown but Warner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marshall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Marshall takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Marshall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Warner swivels and escapes. Warner looks to land a combination but Marshall avoids it well. Marshall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Marshall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marshall somewhat. Warner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Colin Marshall has been cut. Marshall shoots in looking for a takedown. Warner tries to sprawl out of it but Marshall keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Warner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Warner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
