Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hazard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hazard's entrance music is Cult of Personality. A fine choice. Matt Sabre has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Sabre!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Sabre.

Sabre gets caught flat footed, as Hazard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hazard working some strikes from top position.
Hazard trying to control the position from guard on top but Sabre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ethan Hazard just wasn't active enough.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ethan Hazard just wasn't active enough.
Hazard needs to keep his hands up - Sabre had a free shot at his head there.
Sabre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sabre tries to clinch up but Hazard circles away and keeps his distance.
Sabre throws a hook to the side of Hazard's head but Hazard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Hazard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sabre, pushing him back against the cage.
Sabre's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Hazard is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sabre can't fight it off and eventually Hazard manages to take the fight to the floor. Sabre looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sabre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hazard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sabre isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hazard stacks Sabre on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hazard!
Sabre is looking to reverse the position.
Sabre takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Hazard fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hazard cracks Sabre with a big right hand but Sabre just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hazard is looking to take a break and control but Sabre is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

What's Sabre going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sabre pushes Hazard away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hazard gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Hazard dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sabre stuffs the takedown attempt from Hazard. Hazard gets slowly back to his feet.
Ethan Hazard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A big right from Sabre misses.
Sabre misses with a wild combination.
Hazard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sabre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sabre swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hazard.
Hazard uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sabre.

Hazard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hazard is trying to pull guard but Sabre turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Hazard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hazard tries to score a body lock takedown but Sabre shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sabre lands a right hand.
Sabre struggles to land a body shot inside as Hazard controls his hands.
A nice left hand lands by Sabre.
Sabre lands a body punch in the clinch.
Sabre softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hazard has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sabre after a bit of a struggle.

Sabre stops a takedown attempt from Hazard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hazard tries to score a body lock takedown but Sabre shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sabre creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Sabre lands an elbow inside.
Sabre manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A nice left hand lands by Sabre.


Hazard is rocked!
A short body shot lands from Sabre as the two fighters clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sabre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hazard slips a straight right by Sabre.
Sabre scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sabre scores with a sloppy right hand. Hazard should have avoided that one.
Oh Hazard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sabre throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
and Sabre counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hazard! He's just covering up as Sabre starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Sabre!
A relieved looking Matt Sabre thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
