Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markus Rieech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rieech has chosen DMX ft. Black Violin-Im a Ryder as his entrance music. Markus Rieech told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Alard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Markus Rieech! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rieech scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Rieech is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alard sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rieech displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alard. Rieech fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rieech shoots in looking for a takedown. Alard tries to sprawl out of it but Rieech keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rieech!
It looks like Aaron Alard has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rieech moves in looking to clinch but Alard pushes him off. Rieech jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alard has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Rieech. Alard is breathing heavily. Alard ducks right into an uppercut from Rieech. Alard shoots in and gets a takedown into Rieech's guard. Rieech looking for a sweep. Not yet Rieech, not yet. Rieech wants to get back to his feet but Alard is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rieech working a defensive guard but Alard passes into half guard.
Rieech tries to get to full guard but Alard has control of the leg. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alard missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alard is looking to take a break and control but Rieech is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rieech tries to kick Alard off but Alard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Alard scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Alard throwing shots but Rieech is blocking nicely. Alard sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Rieech defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alard stalling away here and it's allowed Rieech to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Rieech wants to sweep here but Alard controlling him for the moment. Alard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Rieech is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Alard's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alard drops back looking for a leg! Rieech is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rieech manages to kick Alard off! Alard jumps back into Rieech's guard. Rieech utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alard content to stall in guard here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Alard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rieech throws a nice looking combination but Alard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Alard shoots in for a double leg but Rieech sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Markus Rieech seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rieech throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alard's waist but Alard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rieech off to one side. Rieech shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alard's guard. Alard keeping full guard, as Rieech tries to pass. Alard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rieech is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Alard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rieech gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rieech is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Alard is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alard wants to sweep here but Rieech controlling him for the moment. Alard is looking for a triangle but Rieech pushes his legs off easily.

Aaron Alard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alard is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Alard is looking to control Rieech's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alard avoid being mounted? Rieech is stalling here. Alard is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rieech seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Alard has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Alard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rieech pushes Alard away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alard gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Rieech really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rieech avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Alard. Alard throws a strike aimed at the side of Rieech's head but Rieech avoids it well. You can see the frustration on Rieech's face as Alard controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rieech is trying to get back to half guard. Alard swings around for an armbar but Rieech sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alard's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rieech tests Alard's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rieech looks to land a combination. Alard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Rieech lands a jab-cross combination.
Alard is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rieech is looking to clinch. A head kick misses from Rieech. Rieech throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rieech.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rieech slaps away a takedown attempt from Alard, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rieech tries to clinch but Alard moves out of range. Rieech tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rieech fails to land with a series of punches.

Aaron Alard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Markus Rieech. Rieech stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rieech wants it to stay on the feet. Markus Rieech seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rieech wants to clinch up but Alard keeps it at a distance. Rieech chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rieech lands a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rieech manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Alard on his heels. He'll look to pass Alard's guard now, I'm sure. Rieech wants to get up but he can't break Alard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Alard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rieech gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Alard is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Alard wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rieech is now in half guard. Alard actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rieech tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Alard. Alard gets full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rieech manages to get himself to full guard.
Alard passes Rieech's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Markus Rieech comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Rieech has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
