Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fidel Jr Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rza Reckta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Jr Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rza Reckta! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reckta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Castro stuffs the takedown attempt from Reckta. Reckta gets slowly back to his feet. Rza Reckta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castro drives through with a takedown into guard. Reckta looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Reckta looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Reckta wants to sweep but no luck. Castro wants to stand but Reckta has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Castro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castro won't allow Reckta to sweep him here. Reckta keeping moving, preventing Castro from controlling successfully. Castro drops back looking for a leg! Reckta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reckta manages to kick Castro off! Castro jumps back into Reckta's guard. Reckta throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reckta swivels though and keeps the full guard. Reckta throws a nice elbow from the bottom. Castro won't allow Reckta to sweep him here. Castro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reckta slips out almost immediately though and dives into Castro's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Reckta is looking to work some ground and pound but Castro has wrist control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reckta drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reckta jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Reckta working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Castro's head. Reckta postures up and lands a big shot to Castro's brow. Reckta is posturing up here but Castro has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Reckta tries to roll out but it's too tight and Reckta has to tap! Slick submission there by Castro!
