The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Rosa feints and as Jarvela raises his hands in defense, De La Rosa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
De La Rosa wants to pass the guard but Jarvela is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De La Rosa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
