Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Barou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Barou!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barou throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ribeiro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barou is in Ribeiro's guard.
Ribeiro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Diego Barou hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Barou closes the distance and clinches.
Ribeiro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barou smiles and moves away.

Ribeiro gets a takedown into half guard.

Ribeiro is keen to just control but Barou is a slippery customer.
Barou keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ribeiro is thwarting Barou's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barou is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ribeiro is looking to stall here but Barou recovers full guard.
Barou not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ribeiro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ribeiro trying to control but Barou is working from the bottom.
Barou wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Barou tries to clinch up but Ribeiro circles away and keeps his distance.

Ribeiro has managed to clinch.
Ribeiro is pressed up against the cage. Barou has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ribeiro down to the mat. Ribeiro avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Barou is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ribeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Barou moves out of range easily.
A punch lands to the side of Ribeiro 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Ribeiro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barou tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ribeiro wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ribeiro throws an elbow but Barou slips to the side and avoids it well.

Ribeiro decides to take the fight back to the feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barou misses with a series of wild punches.

Ribeiro clinches.

Ribeiro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barou shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ribeiro pinned against the cage. Ribeiro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ribeiro lands a good knee to the midsection. Barou won't want to take too many of those.

Ribeiro dives in and grabs Barou's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barou pushes down on Ribeiro's head and hops out.

Ribeiro is looking to sweep but instead, Barou has passed into half guard.
Barou looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Daniel Ribeiro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ribeiro is not content to let Barou control the position.

Barou seems to be working for a kimura but Ribeiro defends the submission attempt.
Barou wants to pass to mount but Ribeiro is defending the position.
Ribeiro wants to control the action here but instead Barou manages to pass to full mount!
Barou lands a nice shot to the head.

Barou looking to control but Ribeiro is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Ribeiro wants to hold on but Barou pushes him away.

The referee warns Ribeiro that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Barou avoids the attempt from Ribeiro to control.
Ribeiro is bucking up trying to escape but Barou cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Barou looking for a guillotine from mount but Ribeiro is having none of it.
Ribeiro is just holding on here. Barou manages to take his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ribeiro wants to escape the position.
Will Barou go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barou is not going to allow Ribeiro to sit and survive in this position.

Diego Barou showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ribeiro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Barou or perhaps it was just good defense by Ribeiro which made him look bad.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown but Barou shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ribeiro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barou fails with the takedown.
Daniel Ribeiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Barou.
Barou is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ribeiro wants to stand but Barou has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Ribeiro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ribeiro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barou's guard.
Barou is staying active underneath Ribeiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Barou wants to get back to his feet.
Ribeiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ribeiro is stalling here. Barou is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ribeiro seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Barou has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ribeiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Barou is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
