PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Georgesten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georgesten has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Georgesten!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stokes gets a clinch.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Georgesten blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stokes.
Stokes trying to mount his opponent but Georgesten defends it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Georgesten can do anything to dispel that myth.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Georgesten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stokes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Georgesten's guard.
Stokes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Georgesten changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stokes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nathan Stokes will probably get the nod.

Georgesten is fighting to break Stokes's control of his arms but Stokes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
