The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ballswick stalks Cortes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cortes's face. Cortes staggers backwards, shaken.
Cortes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ballswick but Ballswick pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cortes is nestled in close to Ballswick, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
