The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrovich misses with a takedown
and Papers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Petrovich won't be happy with that.
Papers lands a few punches from side control.
Papers lands a decent elbow from side control.
Petrovich regains half guard, as Papers was trying to land strikes.
Papers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Petrovich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Papers pulls his head out easily.

Papers throws a strike but Petrovich avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Papers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Papers stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Petrovich throws up his legs and catches Papers in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Papers tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Petrovich! That came out of nowhere!
