Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Randy Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Christian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Alvarez gets to his feet - Christian follows without any prompting.
Alvarez blocks a head kick by Christian.
Alvarez fails with a takedown attempt.

Alvarez pushes Christian up against the cage in a clinch.

Christian is fighting off a takedown attempt but Alvarez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Christian to the mat. Christian regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Christian wants to get back to his feet but Alvarez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Christian controls Alvarez momentarily but Alvarez frees himself.
Christian is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Alvarez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Alvarez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Alvarez wants to control from the top but Christian keeps moving.
Christian is trying to keep Alvarez in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Christian tries to clinch but Alvarez moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Christian as Alvarez shoots in.

Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Christian did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control.

Christian has one foot on Alvarez's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Christian tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Alvarez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alvarez.
Christian is breathing heavily.

Alvarez won't allow Christian to sweep him here.

Christian wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment.

Alvarez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eddie Alvarez was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Christian shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alvarez sprawls well. Alvarez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Christian gets slowly back to his feet.

Christian wants to clinch but Alvarez slips to the side

and Alvarez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Christian!

Christian really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Christian wants to stand but Alvarez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Alvarez wants to sweep but no luck.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alvarez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Alvarez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Christian defends it easily.
Eddie Alvarez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Christian trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Alvarez manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Christian is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Alvarez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Christian's guard.
Christian scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Alvarez manages to mount him!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alvarez controlling from the full mount.
Alvarez landing strikes, looking to finish!

Alvarez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Christian is on top in guard.

Alvarez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Christian off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Alvarez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Christian shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alvarez as he jumps to the side.

Christian gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Alvarez tries to pull guard but Christian won't allow it.
Christian is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Alvarez is keeping busy.
Christian tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alvarez just stands there and leans against the cage.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Alvarez pulls guard successfully.
Alvarez looking to control.
Alvarez looking for a sweep. Not yet Alvarez, not yet.
Alvarez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Christian is squirming around, avoiding Alvarez's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Christian takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Alvarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Christian wanted to stand there but Alvarez had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez is trying to keep Christian in close.

Alvarez has his feet on Christian's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Alvarez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Christian to the mat! Christian manages to get full guard.
Alvarez chips away with some ground and pound.
Alvarez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Christian swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Christian looking for subs off his back but Alvarez has passed one foot through into half guard.

Alvarez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eddie Alvarez was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Christian tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Alvarez moves into range and clinches up with Christian.

Alvarez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Christian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Christian off to one side.
Christian slaps away a takedown attempt from Alvarez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Randy Christian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Alvarez.
Christian throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Christian tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alvarez swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Christian makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Alvarez decides to stand and escape the position.

Christian shoots and misses

and Alvarez moves into the clinch.
Alvarez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Eddie Alvarez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Alvarez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
