Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Boom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harper Pool! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pool fails with a takedown attempt. Pool closes the distance and clinches up with Boom, looking for a takedown. Pool pushes Boom against the cage but Boom circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Boom shoots in for a double leg but Pool sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. No luck for Pool with that takedown attempt. Damian Boom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harper Pool. Horrible takedown by Boom or perhaps it was just good defense by Pool which made him look bad. Pool showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boom.
Pool looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boom is fending him off so far but Pool persists. Nope, Boom circles away and we're back to standing. Boom lands a jab-cross combination. Boom throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Left hook, right uppercut from Boom. Boom will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pool shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pool was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pool lands a heavy elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pool sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Pool wants to control the pace but Boom is squirming around nicely. Boom takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Pool has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pool landing strikes from the mount and Boom is in trouble! Pool looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pool tries to control but Boom wriggling away. Pool raining down shots from the mount! Pool scoring with strikes but Boom is staying in there. Pool sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Boom blocking the ground and pound. Pool with a couple of short strikes. Pool thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Boom prevents Pool from taking his back. Pool tries to control but Boom wriggling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Boom is desperately trying to improve his position but Pool has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harper Pool dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pool shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boom as he avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boom throws a jab when Pool was well out of range. Pool leaves Boom with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Boom throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Damian Boom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pool thumps Boom with a low kick. Pool closes the distance and clinches up with Boom, looking for a takedown. Pool pushes Boom against the cage but Boom circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pool trying to control the position from guard on top but Boom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pool is working for a submission of some sort.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pool takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pool not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pool wants to pass the guard but Boom is defending well. Pool moves nicely into side control. Pool tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Boom taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pool is trying to get an arm triangle but Boom is defending well. Pool thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pool is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Boom's shoulder. That is not cool. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pool is looking to take a break and control but Boom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harper Pool showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Boom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pool on the ground. Boom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pool trying to control but Boom is working from the bottom. Pool slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pool tries for a kimura but Boom is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pool is looking to take a break and control but Boom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pool is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boom is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pool misses with the ground and pound. Boom dodges the ground and pound from Pool. Boom looks to move to half guard but instead Pool has passed into mount! Damn! Pool content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pool has control of Boom's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Boom regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pool trying to control but he's not successful this time. Boom defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pool.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pool looking to secure an arm triangle but Boom defends it well. Harper Pool has got the better of the ground game so far. Boom wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Pool.
Damian Boom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Harper Pool is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pool tries to control but Boom wriggling away.
And that's the end of the fight! Harper Pool comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pool winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
