Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gianfranco Zola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gronk Groenhud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zola might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Balls to the Wall. Groenhud comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sometime Lonely by Kelly Chen kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zola has Groenhud up against the cage in a clinch.
Groenhud is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A bit of stalling here from Zola.

Zola lands with a straight right. Groenhud didn't see that one coming.

Groenhud gets caught flat footed, as Zola shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zola stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Groenhud swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Groenhud is trying to keep Zola in close.
Groenhud looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Zola tries to advance to mount but Groenhud denies him.

Zola moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Groenhud has worked his arm free - good work by Groenhud!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Zola swings around for an armbar but Groenhud sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Zola's guard.
Zola might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Groenhud sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zola's guard.
Zola is looking to improve his position.
Groenhud seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zola does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Zola won't allow Groenhud to pass to mount.
Groenhud prevents Zola from improving his position.
Zola makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zola.
Groenhud pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zola is keeping the position for now.

Gianfranco Zola dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Zola scores with a body shot.
Groenhud swats away the attempt to clinch by Zola.
The fight stays on the outside here - Zola looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Groenhud throws a head kick that Zola semi-blocks.
Groenhud misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Groenhud, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gianfranco Zola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zola dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Groenhud walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Groenhud clobbers Zola with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Zola counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Zola.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Groenhud is pulling down on Zola's head to control his posture.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zola accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Groenhud wants to control but Zola passes easily into half guard.
Zola is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Zola with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Groenhud tries to reverse the position but Zola maintains control.
Zola jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Groenhud manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Zola wants to control but Groenhud is keeping him busy.

An elbow from Zola crashes against the mat.
Zola has hold of Groenhud's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Groenhud seems comfortable defending it but Zola has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Groenhud is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Groenhud is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Zola couldn't care less - he's delighted!
