Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles McDonnaugh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandon Esch! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Esch shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McDonnaugh defends it nicely. McDonnaugh tries to clinch but Esch moves out of range. A head kick by Esch misses and McDonnaugh counters by clinching up. A head punch on the inside from McDonnaugh fails to land. McDonnaugh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McDonnaugh manages to end up in side control. Esch is not content to let McDonnaugh control the position. You can see the frustration on Esch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McDonnaugh trying to control the action but Esch is working from the bottom. McDonnaugh looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Esch is avoiding damage well.

Esch wants to control but McDonnaugh is keeping busy and won't allow it. McDonnaugh wants to pass to mount but Esch is defending the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McDonnaugh sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Esch defending well though. Esch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Esch is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McDonnaugh knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McDonnaugh for a finish. Esch sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! McDonnaugh is squirming around, avoiding Esch's attempts to control the action. McDonnaugh keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McDonnaugh is working to get back to half guard.
Esch can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McDonnaugh is looking to escape. Esch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McDonnaugh kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Brandon Esch will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Esch closes the distance and clinches up with McDonnaugh, looking for a takedown. Esch pushes McDonnaugh against the cage but McDonnaugh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. McDonnaugh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McDonnaugh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Esch trying to control but McDonnaugh is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Esch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
