Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damned Jimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Rascal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimm tries to clinch but Rascal moves away
letting Rascal counter with a right hand.

It looks like Damned Jimm has been cut.
Jimm tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jimm throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rascal shoots in looking for a takedown. Jimm tries to sprawl out of it but Rascal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jimm manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice uppercut there from Jimm.
Jimm looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rascal is fending him off so far but Jimm persists. Nope, Rascal circles away and we're back to standing.

Rascal moves into range and clinches up with Jimm.
Jimm is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rascal gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jimm escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rascal shoots in but no luck this time.
Jimm shoots in looking for a takedown. Rascal tries to sprawl out of it but Jimm keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rascal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rascal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jimm avoids it really well and circles away.
Rascal looks to land a combination. Jimm sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Jimm goes for a takedown attempt but Rascal pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jimm tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rascal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jimm somewhat.
Rascal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jimm avoids it really well and circles away.

Rascal scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Rascal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jimm as he jumps to the side.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jimm rushes Rascal and presses him up against the cage.
Jimm is trying to drag Rascal to the mat but Rascal just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jimm tries to score a body lock takedown but Rascal shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Jimm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jimm. Rascal does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rascal shoots for a takedown but Jimm saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rascal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jimm.

Jimm throws out a loose jab but Rascal uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jimm jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rascal walks away with a smile on his face. Jimm gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jimm shoots in looking for a takedown but Rascal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jimm's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jimm tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rascal was well out of range. Poor timing from Jimm.
Rascal just misses with a punch to the body.
Jimm misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jimm throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rascal counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jimm moves into the clinch successfully.
Rascal tries for a takedown but Jimm manages to get underhooks.

Jimm escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Damned Jimm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimm misses with a series of wild punches.
Rascal tries for a takedown but Jimm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Rascal counters by moving into the clinch.

Rascal jumps guard and drags Jimm to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jimm tries to free his leg and advance position but Rascal is retaining full guard.

Jimm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jimm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rascal is looking for a triangle but Jimm pushes his legs off easily.
Rascal is breathing heavily.
Jimm tries to free his leg and advance position but Rascal is retaining full guard.

Jimm gets to his feet - Rascal follows without any prompting.
Jimm fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rascal manages to avoid it.
Rascal slips a jab from Jimm.
Horrible takedown by Rascal or perhaps it was just good defense by Jimm which made him look bad.
Damned Jimm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Rascal.

Jimm drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jimm jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jimm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rascal defends it easily.
Rascal wants to control from the top but Jimm keeps moving.
Rascal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jimm has his foot on Rascal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rascal works his way back into a safe position though.

Jimm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jimm seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rascal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Damned Jimm overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jimm throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rascal because Jimm loaded up on that one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jimm is landing with some decent strikes but Rascal is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jimm unloads with some shots from mount but Rascal bucks and avoids them well.
