The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esperanza throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Esperanza tried to score with a low kick but Edward checks it.
Edward slips a jab and a cross from Esperanza.
Edward tries to clinch up.
Esperanza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice shot lands for Edward.
Edward avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Esperanza tries to clinch but Edward moves out of range.
Esperanza has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Esperanza there as he acknowledges the shot.
Esperanza dodges the punch combination from Edward.
Esperanza misses with a low kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Edward lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Esperanza has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Esperanza and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Esperanza will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Edward goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Esperanza chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Edward can pounce on him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Esperanza tries to clinch up but Edward circles away and keeps his distance.

Edward digs a good hook to Esperanza's body.

Esperanza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A combination from Esperanza does no damage.
Esperanza feints and then cracks Edward's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Edward down.
Esperanza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Esperanza on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Esperanza misses with a head kick.
Esperanza throws a low kick but Edward moves out of range easily.
Edward lands a nice looking body shot.
Ryan Edward is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Esperanza tries to close the distance and clinch but Edward swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Esperanza stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Edward.
Esperanza misses with a few strikes there.
Esperanza throws a sloppy head kick and Edward moves out of range easily.
Esperanza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Edward moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Esperanza is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edward lands with a nice combination. Esperanza backs away looking to recover.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Edward.
Edward buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Edward lands a slapping body shot.
Esperanza drops his hands momentarily and Edward takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Edward with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Edward digs a good hook to Esperanza's body.
Esperanza misses with a leg kick.
Edward changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Edward cracks Esperanza with an open hand slap.
Edward connects with a body shot that sends Esperanza's belly button to the back.
Esperanza has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Edward.
Esperanza dodges the punch combination from Edward.
Edward lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Edward cracks Esperanza with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

A jab from Edward finds it's way through Esperanza's defenses.
Esperanza throws a right hand that Edward ducks under and follows up with a left that Edward also avoids with ease.
Edward feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Esperanza's calf.
Esperanza closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Esperanza's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Edward connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Esperanza scrambles back to his feet.

Esperanza is rocked!
Edward lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edward scores with a punch to the head.
Oh Esperanza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Edward drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Esperanza right on the button. Esperanza goes down! Edward follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Edward gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Edward! Ryan Edward retains his light heavyweight title!
