Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalle Laitela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Donavan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kalle Laitela! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Scott Donavan! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laitela shoots in for a takedown but Donavan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Donavan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Donavan looks to land a combination but Laitela avoids it well. Laitela closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Donavan's guard. Donavan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Laitela controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Kalle Laitela just wasn't active enough. Laitela fails with a takedown attempt. Laitela closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Donavan to the mat! Donavan manages to get full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laitela stays in close to Donavan's body and controls the position. Donavan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Laitela controlling from the top position.
Kalle Laitela has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Laitela fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalle Laitela. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donavan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laitela moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donavan throws a series of punches but Laitela moves out of range. Laitela shoots for a double leg takedown but Donavan sprawls well. He's pushed Laitela's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Laitela is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Donavan's half guard. Laitela performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Laitela works his foot free and advances to mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Laitela sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Laitela forces the positional change into back control. Donavan is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Laitela off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Laitela is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laitela has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donavan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Laitela. Donavan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Donavan wants it to stay on the feet. Laitela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Donavan tries to avoid it but Laitela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Donavan to the ground. Donavan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kalle Laitela. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laitela closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Laitela lands in his opponent's guard. Laitela controls from within his opponent's guard.

He's pushed Laitela's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Donavan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laitela was well out of range. Poor timing from Donavan. Donavan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Laitela. Laitela fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Donavan avoids it really well and circles away. Donavan gets caught flat footed, as Laitela shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Laitela controlling from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Kalle Laitela wasn't doing enough on the ground. Donavan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A combination from Donavan does no damage. Donavan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Laitela tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Donavan swivels and escapes. Laitela closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Donavan did well to prevent Laitela getting side control. Laitela stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kalle Laitela. Laitela bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Laitela working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Laitela politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Laitela prefers to stall for the moment though. Laitela seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Donavan for as long as he can get away with. Donavan is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laitela's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Laitela shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Donavan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Laitela controlling from the top position. Donavan looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Laitela cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kalle Laitela is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Laitela controlling the pace for now. Laitela pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Donavan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Laitela is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Donavan is in real trouble.

And that's the end of the fight! Kalle Laitela showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Laitela, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
