Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

12 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Scott Donavan!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laitela shoots in for a takedown but Donavan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Donavan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Donavan looks to land a combination but Laitela avoids it well.
Laitela closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Donavan's guard.
Donavan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Laitela controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Kalle Laitela just wasn't active enough.

Laitela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Donavan tries to avoid it but Laitela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Donavan to the ground. Donavan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Donavan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Donavan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Laitela tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Donavan swivels and escapes.
Laitela closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Donavan did well to prevent Laitela getting side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kalle Laitela.
Laitela bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The referee asks Laitela politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Laitela prefers to stall for the moment though.
Laitela seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Donavan for as long as he can get away with.
Donavan is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Laitela's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
