Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeo Pardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renaissance Smalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smalls has chosen Loverboy - Working for the Weekend as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Jeo Pardy has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jeo Pardy seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pardy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smalls fails with a takedown attempt. Pardy throws a right hand that Smalls ducks under and follows up with a left that Smalls also avoids with ease. Smalls gets the takedown into side control. Smalls working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pardy is trying to get back to half guard. Smalls tries for a kimura but Pardy is defending well. Smalls tries to advance to mount but Pardy denies him. Pardy tries to buck Smalls off but Smalls is having none of it. Smalls tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smalls has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Smalls tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. He's simply no match for Smalls on the ground. Smalls looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pardy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Smalls is trying to move to mount but Pardy reverses beautifully and ends up in Smalls's guard. Pardy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pardy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Smalls can't keep his opponent in guard - Pardy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pardy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Smalls wants to improve his position but Pardy is controlling well.
Smalls looking for submissions off his back. Smalls is trying to get back to full guard. Pardy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smalls knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Smalls tries to get to full guard but Pardy has control of the leg. Pardy lands with a punch from half guard. Smalls regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pardy preventing the sweep. Smalls manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Smalls looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Smalls looking for a guillotine from mount but Pardy is having none of it. Pardy is trying to escape the mount.
Smalls swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pardy is now in Smalls's guard. A big mistake from Smalls there, giving up the dominant position! Smalls keeping moving, preventing Pardy from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smalls had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pardy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smalls Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pardy's back instead. Pardy tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Smalls has control of Pardy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pardy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pardy is working to get back to half guard.
Smalls avoids the attempt from Pardy to control. Smalls fails to move to back control. Pardy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renaissance Smalls dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Pardy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pardy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smalls is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pardy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pardy's back! Pardy preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Smalls. Pardy is trying to break free.
Smalls has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Pardy! Can he survive? No! He's out! Smalls gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
