The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venice throws a push kick but Geist slaps the foot to one side.
Venice throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Geist shoots in but Venice avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Venice throws a low kick but Geist moves out of range easily.
Geist takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Max Venice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Venice lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Geist shoots in for a double leg but Venice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

BOOM! Geist connects with a massive shot to the dome!
It looks like Max Venice has been cut.
Geist can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Venice is looking to escape.
Geist is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Venice can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Venice is rocked!
Max Venice's cut is getting worse.
Venice is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Geist drops a big elbow. That's hurt Venice! More shots from Geist and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
