Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Mcdonald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Walden Harper ! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harper shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mcdonald taking some punishment here, with Harper in his half guard. Mcdonald has hold of Harper 's hands but Harper slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Harper seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Harper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcdonald's head. Harper slips a nice elbow through Mcdonald's hands, connecting with Mcdonald's forehead. Harper working over Mcdonald with some ground and pound. Mcdonald looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Harper missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Harper looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mcdonald wants to improve his position but Harper is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper slips a nice elbow through Mcdonald's hands, connecting with Mcdonald's forehead. Mcdonald is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Harper is nestled in close to Mcdonald, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Harper takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Mcdonald wants to get back to full guard. Harper is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Mcdonald is rocked! Harper scoring with strikes to the body and head. Oh Mcdonald is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mcdonald taking some punishment here, with Harper in his half guard. Harper scores with a big shot! Mcdonald's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Mcdonald! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walden Harper ! During a confident post fight interview, Walden Harper thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
