Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atilla Leopoldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bateman's entrance music is Huey Lewis and The News - Hip to be Square. A fine choice. Leopoldo has chosen Halleljuah Chorus as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leopoldo moves out of range of the body kick.
Bateman throws a push kick but Leopoldo slaps the foot to one side.
The fighters circling - Leopoldo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Leopoldo fails with a takedown attempt.
Bateman throws a big shot that misses.
Leopoldo avoids a kick to the body.
Leopoldo closes the distance and clinches up with Bateman, looking for a takedown. Leopoldo pushes Bateman against the cage but Bateman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Leopoldo cracks a nice hook into Bateman's ribs.
Leopoldo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Leopoldo tries to close the distance and clinch but Bateman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Leopoldo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bateman.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bateman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Leopoldo throws out the jab.
Bateman thows a body shot but no joy.
Bateman tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

A telegraphed right hand from Bateman misses the target.
Nice uppercut there from Leopoldo.
Leopoldo misses the shot to the body.

Bateman throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Leopoldo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bateman's half guard.
Leopoldo is looking to take a break and control but Bateman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Leopoldo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bateman with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Leopoldo is trying to control. Bateman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Leopoldo is just content to waste time from the top position. Bateman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Leopoldo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Leopoldo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bateman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Leopoldo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bateman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leopoldo, into his guard.

Bateman wanted to stand there but Leopoldo had control of the position.

Bateman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Leopoldo has a closed guard, preventing Bateman from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leopoldo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bateman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bateman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Leopoldo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leopoldo controls Bateman momentarily but Bateman frees himself.

Atilla Leopoldo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Leopoldo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Atilla Leopoldo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Leopoldo tries to clinch up but Bateman circles away and keeps his distance.
Bateman misses with a body kick.
Leopoldo lands with a kick to the ribs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Atilla Leopoldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Leopoldo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bateman.
Leopoldo lands with an uppercut that bounces Bateman off the cage and back into range.
Leopoldo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bateman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bateman wants it to stay on the feet.

Leopoldo bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Bateman! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Leopoldo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Oh Bateman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leopoldo advances to full mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Leopoldo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Bateman badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Leopoldo around the waist but Leopoldo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Leopoldo is the winner by TKO! Leopoldo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Atilla Leopoldo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
