The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Billick throws a nice looking combination but Kier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kier drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Billick tries to improve position but can't. Kier works to advance to full mount. Billick defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Kier scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Kier lands a nice shot to the head. Billick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kier raining down shots from the mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kier takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Billick wants to control but Kier is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kier is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Billick to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Billick shrugs it off. Kier raining down shots from the mount! OK we're going to have a standup here. Don Kier hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kier darts in and clinches Billick up against the cage. Billick manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Billick working for submissions but it's allowed Kier to get to half guard.
Kier works his way into side control. Kier decides to stand back up. Kier steps back and let's Billick get back to his feet. Kier takes the fight into the clinch. Kier jumps guard and drags Billick to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kier stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Billick! A nice elbow there by Kier. Billick tries to reverse the position but Kier maintains control. Kier scoring with strikes but Billick is staying in there. Billick is trying to escape the mount.

Kier is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Billick is surviving well by controlling Kier's body position as best he can. Don Kier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Kier controlling the pace. Kier has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kier controlling his opponent. Kier has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kier controlling from mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Don Kier is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
