Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorden Bautista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Smoke the Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorden Bautista!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a double jab.

Smith rushes Bautista and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Smith has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bautista clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Bautista trying to control the position but Smith manages to sink in the hooks.
Smith is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Bautista breaks Smith's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bautista defends it easily.

Bautista drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Bautista off! Bautista jumps back into Smith's guard.

Smith uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Smith throws a right and a left that Bautista avoids nicely.
Bautista tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith misses with a leg kick
and Bautista counters with a thumping low kick.
Smith wants to land a leg kick but Bautista is out of range.
Smith misses with a wild combination.
Johnny Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a leg kick but Bautista moved away.

Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith misses with a double jab.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Smith managing to block the knees to the body from Bautista.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jorden Bautista is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bautista tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith misses with a two punch combination.
Bautista tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Smith tries to bum rush Bautista with a series of wild strikes but Bautista uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bautista goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Bautista closes the distance but Smith moves to the side

and Smith counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smith.
Bautista looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bautista controls Smith momentarily but Smith frees himself.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnny Smith has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bautista darts in trying to clinch
and Smith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bautista's knee momentarily.
Bautista slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice takedown defense from Bautista. No joy for Smith on that attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bautista avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bautista motions for Smith to come forward. Bautista throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bautista tries to clinch up.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Bautista moves out of range easily.
Bautista closes the distance but Smith moves to the side
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bautista avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith misses with a hook.

Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bautista throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Smith thows a huge punch but Bautista dodges it nicely.

Smith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bautista to get to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bautista looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith throws a one two combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smith throws a head kick but Bautista moves out of range.

Johnny Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bautista tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Bautista counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.
Bautista slips a jab and a cross from Smith.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Bautista moves out of range easily.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bautista sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bautista circles away quickly and effectively.

Smith throws a series of punches but Bautista avoids them all with ease.
Bautista steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Danga de danga de dang - Smith scores with a four punch combination!
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith moves into the clinch.

Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smith misses with the combination.

Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bautista tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith throws a right and a left that Bautista avoids nicely.
Bautista wants to clinch.
Bautista moves to clinch but Smith breaks away

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Johnny Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bautista is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Smith taking a breather here.
You can see the frustration on Bautista's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Johnny Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bautista keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Bautista get back to his feet.

Johnny Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
