Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Viko Maafala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommi Uzumaki! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maafala moves forwards but Uzumaki connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Viko Maafala has been cut. The fight stays on the outside here - Uzumaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tommi Uzumaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Uzumaki scores with a nice strike. Uzumaki throws an overhand right that lands on Maafala's shoulder, as Maafala tries to avoid the shot. Uzumaki shoots in and drives through. Maafala sprawls well. Uzumaki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Maafala checks it well. Uzumaki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maafala pinned against the cage. Maafala gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Uzumaki moves in looking to clinch but Maafala pushes him off. Maafala has managed to clinch.
Maafala keeps control of Uzumaki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Maafala breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Maafala clinches with his opponent.
Maafala has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Uzumaki regains guard immediately. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maafala scoring with some ground and pound. Maafala controls the pace of the fight for a moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maafala accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uzumaki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maafala is controlling him. Maafala is pushing down on Uzumaki's leg trying to pass to half guard. Uzumaki is fighting to maintain full guard but Maafala has managed to sneak the leg through. Maafala is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maafala keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Maafala is tying to control. Uzumaki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Uzumaki tries to roll over but Maafala keeps him under control. Maafala works his foot free and advances to mount. Uzumaki is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maafala tries to control but Uzumaki wriggling away. Uzumaki really wants to buck Maafala off and get back to his feet. Maafala working away from the top, dropping strikes. Maafala dominating with strikes here. Maafala lands with some strikes. Uzumaki bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Maafala trying to keep a closed guard but Uzumaki is proving a slippery customer.
Maafala is pulling down on Uzumaki's head. It's preventing any offense from Uzumaki, at least for the moment. Uzumaki throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Uzumaki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maafala looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Maafala throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Uzumaki wants to stand but Maafala is controlling his posture from full guard. Uzumaki looks gassed! Maafala controlling the position. Maafala wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maafala not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Maafala is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Uzumaki rolls with it to try and escape but Maafala cranks on the arm and Uzumaki is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
