Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David has chosen Pity the Man With the Fast Right Hand as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Burton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan David! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but David moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Burton tries a head kick but it misses.
Jack Burton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burton misses with a straight left. Burton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from David. David uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Burton. Burton misses with an uppercut. David saw that one coming. David moves out of range as Burton strikes. David throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Burton sees it coming and avoids it easily. A telegraphed right hand from Burton misses the target. Burton wants to slow David down by chopping away at his legs. Burton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but David manages to avoid it. A jab from David misses. David slips a jab from Burton.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burton missing with a left hand there. David was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
David jabbing away but nothing is landing. David doesn't manage to clinch there - Burton circles away.
Burton misses the body punch and Burton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. David takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Jan David has been cut. David throws an overhand right that lands on Burton's shoulder, as Burton tries to avoid the shot. Burton throws out a leg kick but David moves out of range and Burton only half commits. A combination from David does no damage. Burton throws a left and a right that both miss
and David connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. David with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. David instigates a clinch. Burton lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of David backwards. David drags the fight down to the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Burton wants to control from the top but David keeps moving. David has control of Burton's left arm, preventing Burton from doing any damage. David is looking for a triangle but Burton pushes his legs off easily.
David looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burton trying to control the position from guard on top but David is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. David looking for a sweep. Not yet David, not yet. Burton trying to control but David is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Burton wasn't doing enough on the ground. Burton takes one on the button. David slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burton throws a nice inside leg kick. David displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burton throws out the jab. Burton throws a solid leg kick but David takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Burton. David keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Burton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from David. David avoids a lazy jab quite easily. David misses with a right hand enabling Burton to counter with a crisp jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burton connects with the punch. Burton is really struggling to find his range with his punches. David's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. David ducks under a wild hook from Burton. Burton cracks David with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Burton dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jan David's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Burton throws the left hand but David avoids the punch easily. David misses with a right hand and Burton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. David misses with a jab, cross combination.
Burton looks to land a right hand but David moved out of range. David lands a glancing blow to the side of Burton's head. A jab lands there for David. Burton missing with a left hand there. David was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A left and a right from Burton both land. Nice combination. Jack Burton is winning the standup battle so far. David moves out of range of the strikes. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Burton here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. A big left from Burton misses. Burton throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burton walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. David checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. David closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. David working aggressively here.
Burton trying to stall but David improves his position.
Burton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. David letting Burton take a breather here. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. David continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Burton missing with knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but David blocks it with crossed arms. David throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. David is pushing Burton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Burton unloads a knee to the mid-section. David lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Burton slowing the pace effectively. Burton tries to throw a body punch but David avoids it by throwing Burton back against the cage. David throws a punch but it's blocked by Burton. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Burton misses with a hook to the ribs.
Burton throws an elbow that misses.
David jumps guard but Burton stands there with David around his waist. David gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
David lands a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. David decides to pull guard. Burton trying to move into half guard but instead David has managed to sweep! Burton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
David postures up.
David wants to control from the top but Burton keeps moving. Burton looking for a sweep. Not yet Burton, not yet. David tries to free his leg and advance position but Burton is retaining full guard. Burton keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jan David wasn't active enough on the ground. A telegraphed right hand from Burton misses the target. Burton connects with a crisp jab. David throws out a loose jab but Burton uses good head movement to avoid it. Burton throws a lazy right hand but David sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. David misses with a looping left. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. David swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A head kick misses from Burton. A left lands for Burton. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Burton will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jan David's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
David gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Burton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burton throws a sloppy head kick and David moves out of range easily. David throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. David checks a leg kick. David misses with the combination.
David tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Burton slips a straight right by David. David misses with a hook. Burton ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. David staying out of range there. Burton throws a sloppy head kick and David moves out of range easily. David misses with a looping left. David ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burton moves away. Jan David is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Burton looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. David throws a lazy uppercut
and Burton counters with a lovely straight right hand! Burton slips under a jab. Burton takes one to the chin there. Burton throws a low kick but David avoids it. David misses with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Burton misses and David counters with a leg kick. David looks to land a left hand but Burton moved out of range nicely. David moves away from the strike by Burton. A looping hook to the body misses from Burton. David does a little dance to reset his feet. David gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. David ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Burton defending well as David loads up on a big left hand. David misses with an uppercut. Burton misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from David.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! David smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from David. David tries to clinch up. David throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Burton misses with a looping left. David tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Burton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Burton motions for David to come forward. Burton throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A big left from David misses. David clinches. David pressing his opponent against the cage. David scores with a nice hook to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. David working some nice short punches in the clinch. Burton lands a knee to the body.
Burton breaks the clinch.
Burton slips under a jab. Burton throws a push kick but David slaps the foot to one side. David displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burton throws out the jab. David slips a jab and a cross from Burton.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. David misses with an uppercut. Burton saw that one coming. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. David forces Burton back against the cage and clinches. Jan David has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Burton misses with some punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Jan David comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Burton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
