Wesson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ticks and Leeches by Tool. Smith Wesson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Smith Wesson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Mixmaster!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wesson throws a nice looking combination but Mixmaster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wesson shoots for a takedown but Mixmaster saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wesson stuffs the takedown.
Wesson has his takedown stuffed
and Mixmaster counters with a straight right hand.

Mixmaster rushes Wesson and presses him up against the cage.
Wesson landing knees to the body.

Mixmaster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wesson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mixmaster counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Smith Wesson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wesson is wriggling around trying to escape.

A nice elbow there by Mixmaster.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mixmaster is landing with some decent strikes but Wesson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mixmaster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mixmaster's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mixmaster looking to control but Wesson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Despite being in the dominant position, Alexander Mixmaster just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wesson closes the distance looking to clinch

and Mixmaster counters with a takedown into side control.
Mixmaster is looking to take a break and control but Wesson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mixmaster misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Mixmaster goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wesson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mixmaster but great work by Wesson.

Wesson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mixmaster some visible discomfort.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wesson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Mixmaster works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Wesson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Mixmaster is trying to stand back up but Wesson is controlling him

Wesson is nestled in close to Mixmaster, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wesson is nestled in close to Mixmaster, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mixmaster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wesson tries for a takedown but Mixmaster circles away easily
and Mixmaster finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Mixmaster ducks under a wild hook from Wesson.
Wesson wants to clinch but Mixmaster slips to the side

and Mixmaster counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Mixmaster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mixmaster throws a solid leg kick but Wesson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mixmaster.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

so Wesson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wesson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mixmaster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wesson's guard.
Mixmaster looking to sit in guard and control but Wesson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Mixmaster dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mixmaster shoots and misses
and Wesson counters with a thumping low kick.

Mixmaster clinches with his opponent.
Knees in the clinch landing for Mixmaster.
Wesson is pressed up against the cage. Mixmaster has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wesson down to the mat. Wesson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Mixmaster makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Mixmaster counters with a single leg into guard. Wesson didn't expect that.
Mixmaster throws a strike but Wesson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mixmaster is looking for a triangle but Wesson pushes his legs off easily.

Mixmaster is working an open guard so Wesson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wesson darts in trying to clinch

and Mixmaster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wesson's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mixmaster stands up over Wesson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Mixmaster stands up and waves to Wesson to follow him.

and Mixmaster counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Wesson! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Mixmaster!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Mixmaster!
