Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ewert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ewert comes to the cage accompanied by HERO OF WAR. John Ewert has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Ewert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick McBride! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ewert closes the distance but McBride moves to the side and McBride counters with a nice body shot. McBride fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. McBride with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ewert is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ewert gets caught flat footed, as McBride shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. McBride seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McBride lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. McBride with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. McBride wants to control from the top but Ewert keeps moving. McBride is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Let's hope that McBride has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBride distracts Ewert with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. McBride cracks Ewert with a solid left hand. McBride works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ground and pound from McBride. McBride lands strikes from half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McBride connects with a nice short shot to Ewert's temple. McBride works his way into full mount! McBride has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. A nice elbow there by McBride. Whack. That's a big, big shot from McBride! Ewert is out cold! This one is all over!
