The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena tries to clinch up
and Beam counters with a body kick.
Pena is looking to clinch but Beam is avoiding it.
Pena takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Pena tries to clinch but Beam moves out of range.

Pena pushes Beam up against the cage in a clinch.
Beam tries to break free but Pena pushes him back against the cage.

Beam breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pentti Pena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beam slips under a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pena wants to clinch.
Beam throws a quick inside leg kick.
Beam scores with a head kick.

Pena on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Beam counters with a good low kick that Pena was not able to check.
Beam throws a head kick that Pena semi-blocks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That kick from Beam tenderised Pena's leg. Pena is trying to keep his angry face on.

Beam has taken the fight to the clinch.

Beam breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beam feints and then cracks Pena's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pena down.
Beam thows a body kick. Pena tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Beam scores with a spinning back kick!

Beam lands a big head kick that sends Pena tumbling to the mat! Beam takes a step backwards and waves Pena back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Pena is rocked!
Beam dances in with a quick combination. Pena is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Beam snaps Pena's head back. Pena stumbles backwards against the cage. Beam steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Pena's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Pena just didn't come prepared.
