Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Greg Stairs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abilio Silva! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stairs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Stairs thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Stairs sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Stairs thowing shots but they're missing. Silva is working to get back to half guard.
Stairs wants to control the action but instead Silva gets a body lock and reverses into Stairs's guard! Nice work! Silva throwing strikes but missing. Silva throwing strikes but missing. Silva in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silva throws a series of punches but Stairs avoids them all with ease. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stairs. Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stairs scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Stairs stands up. Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stairs moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Stairs counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stairs. Silva looks gassed! Stairs landing with the ground and pound.
Stairs drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Stairs off! Stairs jumps back into Silva's guard. Silva striking off his back but it's not causing Stairs any problems. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stairs advances to half guard. Silva wants to improve his position but Stairs is controlling well.
Stairs trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Stairs moves into full mount! Silva won't be happy about that! Silva working to try and regain half guard.

Stairs pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Stairs blocks Silva's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Stairs wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Poor strikes thrown by Stairs there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Stairs has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Silva is forced to tap!
