Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Downey McCain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nolan Smith could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Downey McCain's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nolan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Downey McCain!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith clinches up against the ropes.
McCain throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Smith on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from McCain.
Smith blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
McCain misses with an elbow over the top.
McCain misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smith.
A knee to the head by McCain.
McCain gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smith.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, McCain creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
McCain misses with a punch on the inside.
Smith jumps guard but McCain stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Smith takes a shot to the head.
A nice glancing elbow lands by McCain.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith blocks an elbow strike from McCain.
Smith blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McCain just stands there and leans against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nolan Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
McCain trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McCain defends it easily.
McCain trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith keeping full guard, as McCain tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCain can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is looking to sinch up a triangle. McCain throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Smith's body to avoid the submission. Smith has instead reached around McCain's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Smith arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
