Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Francesco Luongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luongo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Alexisonfire - The Northern. The crowd seem to be enjoying Ramirez's choice of entrance music: Cold As Ice - MOP. Javier Ramirez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Francesco Luongo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramirez throws a combination that misses and Luongo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ramirez's guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Luongo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ramirez looking for a sweep. Not yet Ramirez, not yet. Luongo stays in close to Ramirez's body and controls the position. Ramirez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luongo defends it easily. Luongo is stalling in the full guard. Luongo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramirez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luongo passes Ramirez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Luongo wants to work for an arm triangle but Ramirez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ramirez is looking for a sweep. Luongo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ramirez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Luongo pulls his head out easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Luongo content to control rather than advance. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Luongo wants to pass to mount but Ramirez is defending the position. Luongo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramirez keeps working.

Ramirez wants to get back to full guard. Luongo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ramirez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Francesco Luongo. Ramirez jabs Luongo right on the nose. Luongo blinks but takes it well. Javier Ramirez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ramirez on the wrong end of a nice jab. Luongo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ramirez manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Luongo shoots in and bounces Ramirez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Luongo stops Ramirez from standing up. Luongo won't allow Ramirez to sweep him here. Ramirez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Luongo works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Luongo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ramirez regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramirez gets caught napping as Luongo dives in and scores a takedown. Ramirez manages to retain guard. Ramirez trying to control the position.
Luongo wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving. Francesco Luongo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Luongo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ramirez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Luongo defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luongo looking to sit in guard and control but Ramirez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Luongo pulls Ramirez in to control the position. Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Luongo is keeping the position. Ramirez is fighting to break Luongo's control of his arms but Luongo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Luongo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ramirez's guard. Luongo tries to free his leg and advance position but Ramirez is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luongo trying to control but Ramirez is working from the bottom. Luongo stands and throws Ramirez's legs to the side, diving into side control. Luongo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Luongo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Luongo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramirez keeps working. Luongo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Francesco Luongo dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A right-left combo lands from Ramirez. Ramirez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Luongo defending well as Ramirez loads up on a big left hand. Ramirez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Luongo sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ramirez tries to clinch there but Luongo circles away.
Luongo shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Luongo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Francesco Luongo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice takedown defense from Ramirez. No joy for Luongo on that attempt. Ramirez stuffs the takedown attempt from Luongo. Luongo gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francesco Luongo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramirez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Luongo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luongo has a takedown stuffed. Ramirez scores with a nice head shot. Ramirez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Luongo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ramirez sprawls well initially but Luongo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Luongo content to control rather than advance. Ramirez gets back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luongo's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ramirez looking for a sweep. Not yet Ramirez, not yet. Javier Ramirez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Luongo controls from within his opponent's guard. Luongo wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving.

Ramirez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ramirez there as he acknowledges the shot. Horrible takedown by Luongo or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez which made him look bad. Ramirez fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Luongo. Ramirez looks to land a left hand but Luongo moved out of range nicely. Ramirez throws a right hand that Luongo ducks under and follows up with a left that Luongo also avoids with ease. Luongo fails with a takedown attempt. Ramirez throws an off balance right hand
and Luongo counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice defenses there by Luongo. Ramirez looks to throw the jab but Luongo is out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Javier Ramirez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Luongo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
