Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morton comes to the cage accompanied by Rock N Roll-Led Zeppelin. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Morton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Foster! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morton scores with a leg kick.
Ricky Morton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morton ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Foster moves away. Foster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morton was well out of range. Poor timing from Foster. Morton finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Foster ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Morton darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Morton ducks right into an uppercut from Foster. Morton lands with an uppercut that bounces Foster off the cage and back into range. Morton walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Foster on the wrong end of a nice jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Foster throws an off balance right hand
and Morton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Morton scores with a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Morton gets the takedown into side control. Morton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Foster, who protects the arm well. Foster parries the strikes from Morton easily there. Morton is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Foster to escape.
You can see the frustration on Foster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Morton grinds an elbow into Foster's temple. Morton throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Foster regains half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Morton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Foster is trying to get back to full guard. Morton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morton thows a huge punch but Foster dodges it nicely.
Morton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morton raining down shots from the mount! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Foster stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Foster wants it to stay on the feet. Morton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Morton closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Morton's corner calls for a 1-2. Morton obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Morton scores with a crisp jab that stopped Foster in his tracks. Morton dives in and grabs Foster's left leg, looking for a takedown. Foster pushes down on Morton's head and hops out. Nice defenses there by Morton. Morton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Foster throws out the jab.

Foster swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Foster is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ricky Morton is winning the standup battle so far. Morton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Foster pinned against the cage. Foster gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Foster utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Morton with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Morton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foster is keeping the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Foster is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Morton, into his guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A looping hook to the body misses from Morton. Foster does a little dance to reset his feet. Morton takes a swing at Foster's ribcage but misses. Foster looks to land a left hand but Morton moved out of range nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Foster misses the jab. Morton throws a leg kick that is checked and Foster counters with a lovely straight right hand! Morton feints and then cracks Foster's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Foster down.

Morton fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Foster on the side of the head. Foster throws a left and a right that both miss
and Morton counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Morton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Foster. Foster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morton was well out of range. Poor timing from Foster. Morton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Morton showed some decent athleticism there. Morton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Foster with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Foster had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Morton defends it easily. Morton postures up in Foster's guard and throws a big left but Foster blocks it. Ricky Morton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ricky Morton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Morton wants to control from the top but Foster keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ricky Morton. Morton throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Some bone on bone action there as Foster checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Morton showed his dominance in that final round. Well Morton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
