Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between D J Rich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rich moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Brian Torres has been cut.
Rich is trying hard to land a takedown here. Torres sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Torres swings for the body but Rich moves out of range.
Rich keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Torres.
Torres dodges the punch combination from Rich.
Rich forces Torres back against the cage and clinches.
Rich tries to break free but Torres pushes him back against the cage.
Rich breaks the clinch.
Rich shoots in for a takedown but Torres shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Rich counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Torres is looking for a sweep. Rich is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rich is working for a kimura but Torres is defending it quite comfortably.
Rich lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Torres moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Torres can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rich controls the pace.
Rich postures up in Torres's guard and throws a big left but Torres blocks it.

Rich tries to free his leg and advance position but Torres is retaining full guard.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Rich from controlling successfully.
Rich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Torres swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rich seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rich throws a big right hand that misses.
Rich wants to pass the guard but Torres is keeping the position.
Torres keeping moving, preventing Rich from controlling successfully.

D J Rich has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Torres throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Torres scores with a jab.
Torres wants to clinch up but Rich keeps it at a distance.

Torres attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

and Rich counters with a three punch combo that has Torres backing up. Torres nods at Rich to acknowledge the strikes.
Rich shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Torres napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Torres gets caught flat footed, as Rich shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Torres digs a good hook to Rich's body.
Torres ducks right into an uppercut from Rich.
Rich fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Torres can't find room to land a body shot as Rich controls the action.

Rich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A slapping leg kick lands for Torres.

and Rich counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Torres fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rich.
Rich moves in looking to clinch but Torres pushes him off.

Torres throws a head kick that Rich semi-blocks.
D J Rich is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rich fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Torres looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A nice leg kick lands there from Torres.
Torres misses with a wild combination.
Torres lands a jab-cross combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Torres on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rich throws a wild body kick that Torres sees coming a mile off.
Rich throws a right and a left that Torres avoids nicely.
Torres tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brian Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rich darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Torres avoids the head kick by Rich.

Torres takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rich looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Torres lands a really nice looking cross but Rich seems unphased.
Rich shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Torres eats them both and turns towards Rich to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Torres avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rich moves out of range as Torres strikes.
Rich gets tackled into the cage by Torres. Torres maintains the clinch.
Rich breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rich has a takedown stuffed.
Rich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Torres as he jumps to the side.

Rich lands with a shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Torres there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Torres throws a leg kick which misses Rich's front leg but catches the back leg as Rich tries to avoid it.

That was a close second round but I would say that D J Rich will probably get the nod.

Rich displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Torres throws out the jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Torres enables Rich to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Torres manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of D J Rich.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to D J Rich.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rich, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
