Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Travis Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Kawika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bane comes to the cage accompanied by Dalek - A Beast Caged. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Travis Bane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rich Kawika!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawika shoots for a takedown but Bane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bane wants it to stay on the feet.
Bane closes the distance looking to clinch

so Kawika counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kawika drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bane dives on top into guard.

Bane wants to get up but he can't break Kawika's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kawika has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bane can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kawika has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bane has managed to get both his arms back between Kawika's legs - danger averted.
Bane has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kawika escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bane gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bane darts in and clinches Kawika up against the cage.

Kawika stuffs the takedown attempt from Bane. Bane gets slowly back to his feet.

Kawika drops back looking for a leg! Bane is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bane manages to kick Kawika off! Kawika jumps back into Bane's guard.

Kawika is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bane is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kawika is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawika gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bane counters with a body kick that stops Kawika in his tracks momentarily.

Kawika has gone for a leg lock! Bane slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kawika's guard.

Kawika is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bane is aware though and is defending well.

Bane stands and steps away. Kawika gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kawika shoots in looking for a takedown. Bane tries to sprawl out of it but Kawika keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Travis Bane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Kawika.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bane, right into the meat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kawika drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bane looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bane looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bane!

Bane decides to stand back up. Bane steps back and let's Kawika get back to his feet.
Bane tries for a takedown but Kawika sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kawika tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kawika somewhat.
Kawika takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
