Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JonJ Ones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trevor Mcneil! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ones avoids the body shot from Mcneil.
Ones connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mcneil. Mcneil just misses with a punch to the body.
Mcneil wants to clinch up but Ones keeps it at a distance. Mcneil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mcneil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ones really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ones is looking to get to half guard. Ones holds of for dear life. Ones sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ones trying to get back to full guard but Mcneil takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Ones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ones tries to reverse the position but Mcneil maintains control. Mcneil tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Mcneil gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ones throws a hook to the side of Mcneil's head but Mcneil sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mcneil swings widly with a right hand
and Ones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ones. Ones postures up and lands a big shot to Mcneil's brow. Ones passes Mcneil's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ones is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Mcneil looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ones cracks Mcneil with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ones with a couple of short strikes. Mcneil is desperately trying to improve his position but Ones has a good base and remains in mount. Ones lands a heavy elbow.
Mcneil is rocked! Ones lands a big elbow - Mcneil is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Mcneil is forced to tap out!
