Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mo Skates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Larsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mo Skates! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skates displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larsen. Skates misses with an uppercut. Larsen saw that one coming. Skates tries to clinch but Larsen moves out of range. Larsen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Skates. Skates changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Larsen tries to avoid it but Skates manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Larsen to the ground. Larsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Larsen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Larsen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Skates throws a right and a left that Larsen avoids nicely. Skates displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larsen. Skates fails with the takedown and Larsen moves into the clinch. Ethan Larsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mo Skates. Larsen prevents a body shot from Skates. Larsen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Skates avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larsen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Skates is looking for a sweep. Skates seems a little lost for a moment, as Larsen dominates the positioning. Skates manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Larsen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Larsen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Skates has managed to free his arm - good work. Skates wants to control but Larsen is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larsen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Larsen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Skates defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Larsen missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Larsen trying to control the action but Skates is working from the bottom. Larsen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Skates throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
This has been an exciting period of action! Larsen is trying to work for a kimura but Skates is defending well.
Skates keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Skates looks like he's trying to stand up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Skates is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Larsen passes the guard and advances to mount! Larsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Skates is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skates wants to hold on but Larsen pushes him away. Skates tries to reverse the position but Larsen maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Skates tries to hold on but Larsen postures up. Larsen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Ethan Larsen dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Larsen shoots in looking for a takedown but Skates manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Larsen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Skates swings for the body but Larsen moves out of range.
Larsen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Skates looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Larsen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Larsen works to advance to full mount. Skates defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Larsen misses with a head shot. Skates defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Larsen. Skates can't escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larsen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Skates has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Larsen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Skates manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Larsen is looking to advance position but Skates won't allow it. Skates is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Larsen pulls his head out easily. Skates looks like he's trying to stand up.
Skates is breathing heavily. Skates tries to get to full guard but Larsen has control of the leg. Larsen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Skates is just riding it out for now. Larsen eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larsen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Skates has managed to free his arm - good work. Larsen is looking for a kimura but Skates is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Larsen to get the leverage. Larsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Skates keeps working. Larsen is stalling here. Skates is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Larsen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Skates has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Skates tries to stand but Larsen is controlling his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larsen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Skates's best efforts. Skates not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Larsen wants to get back to his feet. Larsen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Larsen is trying to stand back up but Skates is controlling him
Larsen kicks off Skates and gets to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Skates gets tackled into the cage by Larsen. Larsen maintains the clinch. Larsen working Skates over with knees to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Skates working hard to break the clinch. Larsen landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Larsen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Skates dives on top into guard. Larsen keeping full guard, as Skates tries to pass. Larsen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Larsen keeping moving, preventing Skates from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larsen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Skates trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Larsen pushes Skates off and gets back to his feet.
Larsen feints and as Skates raises his hands in defense, Larsen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Skates is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Larsen is not content to let Skates control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larsen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Skates's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Skates's back! Larsen is not going to allow Skates to sit and survive in this position. Larsen misses with punches from the back. Skates fending off the submission attempt from Larsen. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Skates is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Mo Skates has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ethan Larsen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Skates turns into Larsen and is now in his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ethan Larsen showed his dominance in that final round. Well Larsen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
