Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jorge Santiago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lilly Lillan! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Santiago finds it's way through Lillan's defenses. Lillan drives through with a takedown into Santiago's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Santiago tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lillan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lillan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lillan throws a strike but Santiago rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lillan has control of Santiago's left arm, preventing Santiago from doing any damage. Lillan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Santiago. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lillan looking for a sweep. Not yet Lillan, not yet. Santiago wants to pass the guard but Lillan is keeping the position. Santiago will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lillan working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Santiago would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lillan wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santiago wants to pass the guard but Lillan is keeping the position.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Lilly Lillan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Santiago throws a shot to the body.
Lillan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Santiago avoids it really well and circles away. Santiago cracks Lillan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Lilly Lillan has been cut. Santiago clinches with his opponent.

Lillan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Santiago fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jorge Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lilly Lillan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lillan with a lazy takedown attempt and Santiago connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Santiago tests Lillan's chin there with a solid looking shot. Santiago rushes Lillan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Santiago lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lillan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Santiago gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Lillan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lillan. Santiago throws a knee to the head but misses.

Santiago breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice cross by Santiago. Santiago is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Lillan shoots for a takedown but Santiago saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lilly Lillan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santiago tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lillan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Santiago wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lillan shoots in looking for a takedown. Santiago tries to sprawl out of it but Lillan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santiago manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Santiago lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lillan backs up against the cage.
Lillan looks gassed! Lillan keeps the fight on the outside. Santiago tries to clinch up. Santiago has managed to clinch.
Lillan goes for a takedown attempt but Santiago pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Santiago tries to clinch but Lillan moves out of range. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Santiago, as that shot connected.
Lillan needs to keep his hands up - Santiago had a free shot at his head there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santiago tries to clinch up but Lillan circles away and keeps his distance. Santiago scores with a decent looking hook.
Lillan is rocked! Santiago leaves Lillan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lillan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Santiago counters with a nice right hand that sends Lillan toppling to the canvas! Lillan scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Santiago finish him?! Lillan is still on wobbly legs! Can Santiago finish him?
That has opened up Lilly Lillan's cut even more. Santiago gets a clinch. Santiago with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lillan seems to have recovered his senses. Santiago looking to throw knees to the head but Lillan is blocking nicely.
Santiago manages to break the clinch.
Lillan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santiago's guard. Lillan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lillan prevents Santiago from getting back to his feet. Lillan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Santiago wants to stand but Lillan is controlling the position. Lillan passes Santiago's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Santiago dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lilly Lillan's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Santiago lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Santiago wants to clinch up but Lillan keeps it at a distance. Santiago connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lillan momentarily.
Lillan on the wrong end of a nice hook. Lillan dives in and grabs Santiago's left leg, looking for a takedown. Santiago pushes down on Lillan's head and hops out. Lillan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Santiago to score with a decent uppercut. Jorge Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lillan shoots in for a double leg but Santiago sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Santiago moves into the clinch successfully.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santiago stalling in the clinch but Lillan improves position. Lillan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Lillan is breathing heavily. Santiago lands a left and a right that send Lillan crashing to the mat, dazed. Santiago thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Santiago has managed to clinch.
Santiago's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lillan loses concentration momentarily and Santiago pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Lillan crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Santiago finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jorge Santiago! An out of breath Jorge Santiago thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
