Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turk Ransel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Cuevas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ransel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bro Hymm- Pennywise. Cuevas has chosen Leave Us Alone/ Dead By Gun as his entrance music. Turk Ransel could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tony Cuevas's chin.

With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Cuevas!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ransel shoots in and drives through. Cuevas sprawls well.
A punch combination from Ransel misses.
Ransel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cuevas scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Turk Ransel has been cut.
A nice combination there by Ransel.


It looks like Tony Cuevas has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cuevas closes the distance and clinches up with Ransel, looking for a takedown. Cuevas pushes Ransel against the cage but Ransel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ransel lands a glancing blow to the side of Cuevas's head.
Ransel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ransel fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ransel lands a head kick that stumbles Cuevas and the fighters go to the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ransel trying to control the position from guard on top but Cuevas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ransel is looking to work some ground and pound but Cuevas has wrist control.
Ransel postures up.
Cuevas is looking to stand up but Ransel isn't so interested in that idea.
Cuevas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Ransel trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cuevas manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Ransel is trying to control the position but Cuevas postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cuevas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ransel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cuevas has managed to get both his arms back between Ransel's legs - danger averted.

Ransel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cuevas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cuevas wants to control from the top but Ransel keeps moving.

Cuevas throwing strikes but missing.
Ransel keeping moving, preventing Cuevas from controlling successfully.
Cuevas stopping the sweep attempt from Ransel.

Ransel has his foot on Cuevas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cuevas works his way back into a safe position though.
Ransel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cuevas controls the pace.

Cuevas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cuevas lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cuevas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Cuevas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ransel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ransel has escaped and now he's on top!
Cuevas keeping full guard, as Ransel tries to pass.

Cuevas wants to stand and escape but Ransel is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ransel tries to free his leg and advance position but Cuevas is retaining full guard.
Ransel with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cuevas is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ransel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turk Ransel dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cuevas thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ransel shoots for a takedown but Cuevas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ransel tries a head kick but it misses.
Ransel throws a right and a left that Cuevas avoids nicely.

Cuevas has Ransel up against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Ransel wants a takedown.
Ransel tries to circle away but Cuevas has him pinned against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cuevas takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ransel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ransel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cuevas throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ransel's head.

Cuevas looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ransel looking to control.
Cuevas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cuevas's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cuevas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cuevas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Cuevas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ransel swinging wildly here.
A bone on bone clash there as Ransel blocks the leg kick.
Ransel lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ransel swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Cuevas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ransel's guard.

Cuevas trying to control but Ransel is working from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ransel holds on and takes a little breather.
Cuevas wants to control from the top but Ransel keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony Cuevas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ransel throws a wild hook but Cuevas just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Ransel gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Cuevas raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Cuevas!
