Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Acevedes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ok Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acevedes comes to the cage accompanied by California Love. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Acevedes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ok Ko!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acevedes misses with a looping right.
A leg kick checked by Acevedes.
Ko misses with a leg kick.
Ko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Acevedes.
Ko leaves Acevedes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A slow jab from Acevedes misses its intended target.
Ko throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ko throws a looping overhand right but Acevedes ducks down to avoid it.
Ko cracks Acevedes with a good jab.
Ko throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ko throws a series of punches but Acevedes moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acevedes throws a series of strikes that have Ko backpedaling.
Ko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Ko misses with a low kick.
Ko lands a high kick!
Ko is looking to clinch but Acevedes is avoiding it.
Ko looks to score with a jab to the body but Acevedes is just out of range.

Ko clinches with his opponent.

Ko landing knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Acevedes is breathing heavily.

Ko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ko throws a front kick aimed at Acevedes's knee but Acevedes avoids it well.
Ko is looking to chop away at Acevedes's legs.
Ko lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ko does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Acevedes avoids the head kick by Ko.
Danga de danga de dang - Ko scores with a four punch combination!
Ko scoring well with a low kick there.
Ko pivots, looking for a leg kick but Acevedes is out of range and Ko settles back down.

Ko doesn't manage to clinch there - Acevedes circles away.
Acevedes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ko can pounce on him.
Ko cracks the inside of Acevedes's front leg.
Ko misses with a low kick.
Acevedes checks a leg kick.
Ko looks to throw the jab but Acevedes is out of range.
Ko slips a jab from Acevedes.
Acevedes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ko.
Acevedes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Marcus Acevedes has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Acevedes. Those never looked like landing.

Ko throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Acevedes checks the leg kick.
Acevedes misses with a wild combination.
Acevedes slips under a jab.
Ko lands with a slapping head kick.
Acevedes takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ko pivots, looking for a leg kick but Acevedes is out of range and Ko settles back down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ko slips a jab from Acevedes.
Acevedes avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ok Ko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Marcus Acevedes's cut.
That's time! Acevedes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ko tries to close the distance and clinch but Acevedes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Acevedes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
An inside leg kick lands from Ko.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ko.
Ko lands a two punch combo.
Ko turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Ko closes the distance and pushes Acevedes back into the cage.
Stalling in the clinch from Ko.
Acevedes takes a knee to the side of the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ko lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ko is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Acevedes is defending well for now.
Ko's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Acevedes wants to get back to striking at distance but Ko won't allow it.

Good leg kick by Ko there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Ko misses with a head kick.
Ko tries to work over Acevedes's front leg with a kick but Acevedes checks it.
Ok Ko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Acevedes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ko rushes Acevedes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Come on Ko - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Ko continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Ko prevents Acevedes from breaking the clinch.
Ko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Acevedes.
Acevedes is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ko's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ok Ko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Acevedes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Ko tries a head kick but it misses.
Acevedes checks the leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ko looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marcus Acevedes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ko tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Acevedes is able to avoid easily.
Acevedes throws a right hand that Ko ducks under and follows up with a left that Ko also avoids with ease.
Acevedes avoids a kick to the body.

Ko rushes Acevedes and presses him up against the cage.
Ko struggles to land a body shot inside as Acevedes controls his hands.
Ko unloads a knee to the mid-section. Acevedes lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ko controlling the action here for a moment.

Ko scores with a shot to the side of Acevedes's head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Ko lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Acevedes or not.

Ko lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Acevedes is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Ko stalls.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Ok Ko.
Ko throws a sloppy head kick and Acevedes moves out of range easily.
Ko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ko. That's going to slow Acevedes down.
Ko throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ko lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Acevedes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Acevedes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Some bone on bone action there as Acevedes checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Ko with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Ko looks to land a body kick but Acevedes moved away.
Ko moves in looking to clinch but Acevedes pushes him off.
Ko cracks Acevedes with a right hand to the side of the head.
A nice leg kick lands there from Ko.
Nice body kick there by Ko.
Ko misses with a leg kick.
Ko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ko scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Acevedes shoots in for a takedown but Ko shows good takedown defense.
Acevedes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ko lands a leg kick that knocks Acevedes off balance momentarily.
Ok Ko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ko throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Ko tries to clinch there but Acevedes circles away.
Ko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Acevedes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ok Ko is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Acevedes, pushing him back against the cage.
Marcus Acevedes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Acevedes is trying to push Ko away but Ko has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Acevedes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ok Ko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
